Philippines Relief

The typhoon that just hit the Philippines has been devastating. One report I heard from a missionary there is that it was about 3 times worse than Hurricane Katrina. I can’t fathom what it would be like to deal with all that would be involved.

A ministry I am familiar with is organizing relief efforts for the Philippines. I’m not soliciting funds – I don’t know if that is permitted on free WordPress blogs – I’m just letting you know it is available if you feel led to give in some way. National Hoops is a basketball ministry started by the former youth pastor at a church we attended when we lived in SC, Mike Washer. (his grandmother is the Kay Washer of One Candle to Burn which I’ve mentioned previously in the 31 Days of Missionary Stories. Two of my sons were under his ministry there. National Hoops has had multiple tournaments in the Philippines and even started a Philippine branch of the ministry with its own evangelist. If you’d like more information, please go to Philippines Typhoon Relief.
