Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt: Water

When our older boys were little, there were a couple of state parks nearby where we would often have picnics.

A favorite activity at one was feeding the ducks at the lake. This is Jason at about age 2 or 3.

Feedig ducks

I think we only rented paddle boats there once or twice. They didn’t have them available all the time. This is Jeremy and I when he was maybe 5. Jim was on a different paddle boat with Jason (the back of whose head is in the foreground) and took the picture from there.

The other state park had this lovely waterfall a very short hike into the woods.

Those were favorite family excursions many years ago. These picture bring back pleasant memories. πŸ™‚

  1. SO great that you were able to bring back to mind some wonderful memories =) My family love to visit the lake to feed the duck… we try to do it often.

I haven’t been on a paddle boat in a LONG time.

  2. Those are some nice pictures. It definitely looks like you had some fun there!

You know what…I don’t think I’ve ever been on a paddle boat. Crazy isn’t it?

  3. I thank God everyday that I took some photos for memories when my children were little…but I wish I had taken more! Of course it isnt as easy, now with digital…who would have ever thought at my age (56+) I would be on a computer, and taking digital photos! I take photos almost everyday now, especially as I am on the lookout for Saturday Photo Hunt themes! I enjoyed your photos of the kids by that little lake…its does look inviting to sit down with a picnic! Thanks for visiting my hunt today!

  4. I love peddle boats! They have them up by the Glory Hole I pictured in mine πŸ™‚ Haven’t ridden them in forever…going to have to take the kids soon πŸ™‚
    I played too!

  5. It is so wonderful that you are sharing your family photos with us. What great shots for this week’s photo hunt theme.

I really need to get out pictures scanned. I might just have to set aside some hours to do that.

    Blessings on your weekend.

  6. We have a similar county park here in Tacoma complete with playground, ducks, and paddle boats. The children and smiles are constantly interchangeable.

  9. Great photos! My kids used to love going to the pond behind our house to feed the ducks when we lived in Hilo.

    Thanks for stopping by.

  10. Family vacations surrounded by God’s gift of nature are the absolute best. More memorable than all the theme parks in the world. Lovely and sentimental shots, all.

  11. Thank you for sharing those lovely memories. It must bring you joy when you relive such happy moments with your children. Thank you for sharing and visiting my photo hunt. Take care!

  12. Barbara, those are not only great photos but it sounds like they were great memories too. That’s one of the best parts about Photo Hunt to me is when it creates moments where people share special memories.

Thanks for visiting me and I hope you have a great week ahead.
