Linda at 2nd cup of coffee created and hosts the Random Dozen meme every Wednesday. You can answer the questions on your blog and link up to Linda’s plus find more participants there.
1. Have you ever been so lost that you were really afraid?
I have a vague memory of a getting lost in what looked to be a bad area of town on a road trip, but I can’t remember much more about it. Then once when we lived outside Atlanta, I drove the kids into Atlanta for a home school group field trip to a downtown museum. Getting there was pretty straightforward, but getting back to the highway from whence we had come was not. Most incidents of getting lost are more unnerving, frustrating, upsetting, but I try to tell myself that with a little help I will get home eventually.
2. Have you ever been to an island?
I grew up near Padre Island in southern Texas, and a lot of outings, celebrations, etc. were held there.
3. Are you more of a thinker or feeler?
Thinker.
4. Do you tend to see issues or situations in life as black and white or shades of gray?
It’s not all either/or. There are many absolutes, but then there are some areas to give each other room to be different.
5. If you were stuck on an island, what book would you hope to have with you (Let’s pretend the Bible is already there, so you can’t say that.)
This is a hard one since I like a variety of books. I think I’d prefer to have a classic I knew I liked, like Amy Carmichael’s biography or Little Women or David Copperfield rather than something new that I might not like. Or one of Jim Berg’s books like Changed Into His Image since I have read it a couple of times and still feel like I need to read it again.
6. What are you most afraid of?
That my loved ones who have not accepted Christ as Savior won’t.
7. Would you rather lose all of your old memories or never be able to make new ones?
This is one of those impossible questions to answer.
8. Pretend I’m looking at a scrapbook page about you. There are three spaces for you to drop in individual pictures. What are those pictures of, and why did you select them?
My family, my home, and books because those are what I most love on earth (of course, in the same vein as #5, aside from the Bible and spiritual concerns.)
9. If you were re-doing your wedding, what would you do differently? (If you’re single, tell me one thing you would do if you were planning a wedding OR huge party.)
I would try to find a better time or way to do the photos. We did them right after the wedding ceremony while the guests were at the reception, and some of them were leaving by the time we got done and came over. I didn’t want to do photo with the bride and groom beforehand, though. I like what my son and daughter-in-law did. The photographer took as many of their photos beforehand as she could. I would also have had a session with the photographer beforehand. We met and saw some of his other work, but didn’t have any bridal portraits done ahead of time because I was away at school. But my eyes were closed in about half my wedding photos, and perhaps a little session beforehand would have revealed my tendency to do that.
10. Tell me one thing you know/believe about forgiveness.
“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins” Colossians 1:13-14.
11. You’re waiting in a doctor’s office. What is your favorite way to pass that time?
Reading the book I brought with me. Having a little extra reading time is the one bright spot in having to go to the doctor.
12. If there were a clone of you in a parallel universe what is one way you hope she/he would be the same as you and one way you hope she/he would be better?
Different: more patient, more open, more healthy.
The same: sense of humor, way of thinking.

I thought for sure that you, “the thinker”, would have clearly thought out the pros and cons of both ideas on #7 and come up with an answer! You SURPRISED me!
#6 — That’s what I meant to say!
I did kind of wimp out on that one.
I just couldn’t come up with an answer. I’m glad I don’t have to make that choice. If the Lord allows either, He’ll help me deal with it.
What a fun meme post, Barbara. I love your answer for #12!
Hey, Barbara! Loved reading your answers!
I can see where you could get lost in Atlanta! I’ve never been there but I would think it would be horrendous to drive in, especially downtown! Glad you made it out safely!
It seems alot of “randomers” would change some things about their wedding pictures and recordings! Me, included!
These are great answers. Excellent response to #6. It’s so fun to see the different directions people take with the questions. Thanks for sharing. Blessings, SusanD
Loved your answers. We had the separate pictures done before the wedding and it still took forever.
My wedding ceremony was very small and intimate. We actually put our finery back on a week after the ceremony and went into a studio to have our photos taken. We had a great photo session, very relaxed and the pictures were wonderful.
Hi Barbarah! I’m so happy you will be joining the Where Bloggers Create party this year!!! I think it will be even bigger and better than last year! I’ll be in touch!
Karen
Definitely would do my wedding over. Two things that really upset me was the usher’s not seating my mom, so it’s time for me to go down and I think that’s ok she and my dad can both walk me down the aisle. Then, THEN I look and some, if not the same, do-do bird usher put a row of chairs right down along the center aisle. My mom walked down behind me. I so wish I could do all of that over again. The great thing is I still have the guy I walked down the aisle for. That counts for something right?
I love Little Women. I think I re-read that, Little Men, and Anne of Green Gables once a year.
I’m a little bit of both. A thinker and feeler. I enjoyed reading all your answers, Barbara! Have a blessed week ahead!
