And here’s another, but I can’t find the lyrics: it is on a CD called A Little Christmas Music by the King’s Singers, called “The Gift,” based on the Shaker hymn “Simple Gifts.” You can hear a snippet of it at that link. It’s one of my most favorites, but that CD is the only place I have ever heard it.

I heard some of these as a child…from an old choir book. I vaguely remember them now…but I know that they are very beautiful songs. Christmas songs used to have a lot more beauty to them.

My favourite lesser-known carol is “The Huron Carol.” So beautiful and unique.
I’ve sung “Once in Royal David’s City” in Church choir before.

I remember all those songs. Thanks for reminding me of childhood songs. Some of them I haven’t heard or sung in years.
Once in Royal David’s City was one of my favorites as a child.

I like #5 too. We sang that in Choral Union when I was in college.
