Thursday Thirteen: Favorite Things to Order at Restaurants

This is edition #12 for me, #66 for Thursday Thirteen as a whole.

Thirteen things I like to order from restaurants:

1. From Outback: Drover’s Platter (chicken and ribs), baked potato, salad. We only get out to Outback once a year or so, and I always get this.

2. From Red Lobster: Popcorn Shrimp, baked potato, salad. We don’t usually get dessert there (too full!) but when we do I like their chocolate cake or banana forster cheesecake.

3. From Fuddrucker’s: The 1/3 lb. hamburger, and I add Mayonaise, their melted cheddar cheese, and lettuce, and french fries. I love their brownies for dessert — I usually take one home and break off a piece off and on through the afternoon.

4. From the Italian Pie: Lasagna + salad.

5. From Pizza Hut or Papa John’s: Pepperoni and Italian Sausage pizza (I like Papa John’s Cinnamon sweet treat, too, for dessert.)

6. From Cororna’s Mexican Food restaurant: Chicken Chimichangas

7. From Cracker Barrel: this one varies because I have gone their often enough to want to try different things. It’s usually a choice between the Chicken and Dumplings, Sugar-cured ham, or Meat Loaf (they do have one dinner plate that includes a little of all three). I often vary the side dishes, too, between stuffing, mashed potatoes, baby carrots, and corn.

8. From Fatz: I couldn’t find anything I liked there the first several visits, then I tried their ribs. Mmmmm….

9. From Ryan’s Steak House: Petite sirloin (well done) with either a baked potato or their mega bar.

10. From Sarku’s Japanese restaurant: Chicken Teriyaki with double meat and vegetables on fried rice.

11. From Monterrey’s Mexican food restaurant: at lunch I like their “Speedy Gonzales” — enchilada, soft taco, and Mexican rice.

12. From McAlister’s Deli: Memphian sandwich (beef, ham, turkey, provolone) and either of their potato soups.

13. Hmmm — those are the restaurants we go to with any regularity. For my 13th one I could mention fast food fare, like Wendy’d Single with no onion and fries or Zaxby’s Big Zax Snack and fries, or I could mention places we stop in for dessert like Denny’s and their Hot Fudge cake, or……….
