Wordless Wednesday: Doing Homework

October 24, 2006 by Barbara H.

Doing Homework

I continually find Jesse in odd positions while he’s doing homework. Looks uncomfortable to me, but I guess it doesn’t bother him! I think of this as his vulture pose. :)

Actually, when you’re pregnant, this position is AWESOME! I use it all the time now! It’s hilarious-looking though!

My sister used to read upside-down…legs up on the back of the couch, head hanging off!

  2. on October 24, 2006 at 11:37 pm2 ladybeth

Amazing how children can stay in weird positions. That would kill me to get into, and I probably wouldn’t be able to get out of! LOL!

Yes looks like a contorsionist ! Hope he is not pregnant (lol) !

  4. on October 25, 2006 at 12:05 am4 Lazy Daisy

Must be nice to be so limber. It may be a new yoga pose.

  5. on October 25, 2006 at 12:24 am5 The Foo

lol…that looks very uncomfortable! happy WW!

  6. on October 25, 2006 at 12:25 am6 viamarie

You’re definitely right. I can’t imagine how he can study at all in this very uncomfortable position.

    Happy Wednesday!

    Wow that does look uncomfortable!

LOL, my husband can sit like that!

It’s unnatural! But a cute picture!!!

  9. on October 25, 2006 at 2:13 am9 Brony

Hey the homework is being done, who cares how he’s sitting.

I used to sit in odd positions too.

    Happy WW!

  10. on October 25, 2006 at 2:18 am10 Tasra Dawson

I agree. Whatever works. At least he’s concentrating and hard at it. I find my daughter in all sorts of crazy study positions too…must be too much homework!

  11. on October 25, 2006 at 2:46 am11 mar

He looks very comfortable although I can hardly imagine myself in that position, lol! happy ww , great shot :)

That is so funny… he really does look like a vulture like that! I can’t even imagine how that is comfortable.

  14. on October 25, 2006 at 6:51 am14 PJ

True, they are much more flexible at that age.
If I tried that I would be stuck like that for weeks..lol
    Have a great Wednesday

  15. on October 25, 2006 at 7:05 am15 ren.kat

Finally a relevant place to bring up the fact that I’ve been to Kyrgyzstan! :-)
All the men sit like this. On the street corners they sit like this smoking and talking. Maybe he’s been out at night and you don’t know it? Could be a new trend.
    Thanks!

  16. on October 25, 2006 at 7:07 am16 Barbara H.

I agree, Brony — as long as he’s getting it done, what position he chooses is fine with me. :) I just think it’s funny. Once I found him with his homework on the floor and him on his stomach on the couch with his feet up where people’s heads usually are. I guess it adds variety. :)

  17. on October 25, 2006 at 7:29 am17 Joy M.

That is hillarious! I am amazed at how the kids get in and stay in the positions they do. It looks painful.

  18. on October 25, 2006 at 8:26 am18 Debbie

Kids just amaze me. My son has always done poses like this too! Just amazing! You captured a great shot!
My WW is up. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  19. on October 25, 2006 at 8:31 am19 Rachel

That’s funny, my nephews can do things like that to when they’re studying. It’s pretty amazing.

  20. on October 25, 2006 at 8:36 am20 Jodi

What a position! What ever gets the homework done, eh?

    Happy Wednesday!

  21. on October 25, 2006 at 8:53 am21 Lori

Ahhh to be young and flexible.

  22. on October 25, 2006 at 9:19 am22 Tammy

LOL.. what a position! That reminds me of my nephew.. he gets in some wierd positions just to watch TV. Great WW

  23. on October 25, 2006 at 9:49 am23 twinki

WHOA! Wish I could bend like that. I’m stiff as a board. My neice does some strange study positions too. I wasn’t that creative! I just sat a the kitchen bar or on my bed.

  24. on October 25, 2006 at 10:11 am24 Chaotic Mom

You know, that’s funny. My oldest boy prefers to do his homework STANDING UP! Drives me bonkers, but he seems to think better on his feet, rather than sitting still. Very much like his Daddy, go figure.

I’ve posted my Wordless Wednesday, too. Enjoy! ;)

  25. on October 25, 2006 at 10:34 am25 Wystful1

OMGoodness!!! I couldn’t do that for long! My knees would not move properly after a while. It’s too funny tho…….ahhhh, to be young in body again.

Happy Wednesday, and thanks for the visit to my W W too.

  26. on October 25, 2006 at 10:45 am26 celfyddydau

That would kill my knees! Great to see him so engrossed in homework

  27. on October 25, 2006 at 11:04 am27 Rona

Our teenager amazes me too with his unique studying postions.

  28. on October 25, 2006 at 11:33 am28 EaglesWings

no doubt that does look uncomfortable….
    thanks for stopping by
    blessings

  29. on October 25, 2006 at 11:47 am29 Carey

As long as he gets it done, id say go for it…sit however you want. Maybe he learns better when he is free to sit however he wants.

  30. on October 25, 2006 at 12:00 pm30 Jenny-up the hill

OMG! That is too funny!! I haven’t noticed how my kids sit while they are studying…I’ll have to watch today! lol!!

  31. on October 25, 2006 at 12:39 pm31 deb

Ahhh the flexibility of youth…sigh… ;~)
    Have a happy Wednesday!

  32. on October 25, 2006 at 12:45 pm32 Beckie

I don’t think I was ever THAT flexible. As long as he’s getting his homework done is the only thing matters. One question though~what are all those remotes for?????

  33. on October 25, 2006 at 12:55 pm33 dishywinnie

Hey as long as he gets it done

    xxxgil

  34. on October 25, 2006 at 12:58 pm34 kdubs

    How responsible!

  35. on October 25, 2006 at 1:15 pm35 Domestic Goddess

Oh, to be young and so flexible!

  36. on October 25, 2006 at 1:57 pm36 Glass Half Full

This is so funny because my brother used to sit like that doing practically everything!!!

  37. on October 25, 2006 at 4:10 pm37 O Mama Mia

I’m gonna agree with everyone else here: as long as its getting done, right? Its amazing how limber the youthful can be.
Happy WW & thanks for stopping by!

  38. on October 25, 2006 at 4:21 pm38 Blair

LOL - that’s pretty funny. I used to do that but never saw a picture of myself in that position. Of course, not sure I could even do it now even if I wanted to.

  39. on October 25, 2006 at 4:29 pm39 Jessica

As long as he’s comfy! And as long as he gets the homework done! Happt Wednesday! My WW is up too!

  40. on October 25, 2006 at 4:44 pm40 Uisce

I’m sure I’d break something if I tried to do that. And I’m not talking about pencils! :)

  41. on October 26, 2006 at 8:56 am41 Judi (Preemie Mom)

Too funny. My little girl can sit in some strange positions for homework too. I am not sure whatever happened to sitting at the table or a desk or on a bed to do homework…but hey as long as it gets done!
